I am beyond excited and humbled to share some incredible news with all of you – We’ve won an award for the first time in my blogging journey! To say that I am amazed and grateful is an understatement.
When I started this blogging adventure, little did I know that it would lead me to such an incredible milestone. Being nominated not once, but three times in the same category (Best Cebu Personal Blog) and once in a different one (Best Cebu Style Blog) by an award-giving body based in Cebu – Best Cebu Blogs Awards, was already an honor in itself. But winning the award on the third nomination is truly a testament to the support and encouragement from all of you. Maybe the third time’s the charm? Okay, fourth! 😜
When I received the invitation to the awarding event, I was very excited. I wasn’t able to attend the awarding night of the previous nominations due to more important commitments, so I made sure this time I could attend. There were no expectations or anything about winning, I just went there to meet other bloggers in person. Yes, I haven’t met one, or maybe I did and didn’t know they were one. It was honestly a funny but rewarding experience. I did not know anyone at the event. I did not know where to sit so I just chose the one that’s closer to the entrance and exit. Unlike others who brought a plus one since we’re allowed to, I went there alone. Brave! 👏
It took a while before the event officially started so I just sat there observing everyone and scrolling my phone unconsciously. They knew each other. Aw, good for them.😁 I wanted to make friends, but it would be weird to butt into the conversations they’re having with their seatmates. Plus, they do not know me and I’m a bit scared to introduce myself. They might be like ‘Who’s this old weirdo?’. 😂
Right after dinner, the awarding proper began. I had mixed emotions. When the category I was nominated for was mentioned, I only told God “Ikaw na bahala, happy nako to be here tonight.” But He gave me more than just a “happy to be there” moment. Che Goes On is Best Cebu Personal Blog 2023. I was filled with a mix of disbelief and overwhelming gratitude. It’s truly unbelievable to think that there are people out there who not only read my words but also appreciate them enough to nominate and vote for me. It’s a heartwarming realization that I didn’t know I had such a wonderful community of readers.
This award is not just a recognition of my efforts but a celebration of our journey together. It motivates me to continue creating content that resonates with you and brings value to your lives. I am genuinely touched by the support, and I want to express my deepest thanks to every one of you who has been a part of this incredible ride.
As I reflect on this achievement, I am reminded of the power of community and the joy that comes from sharing our passions. Thank you for being a part of my blogging family, and I look forward to many more adventures and discoveries together and more stories to share.
